Mindful Morning Yoga

This class is opened to practice stillness and quiet time on the mat.

Mindfully moving through gentle asana (postures) pranayama, (breathing exercises) observation and focused awareness. Through a supported and guided practice your internal compass will direct you to find relaxation and centeredness navigating you to find peace and balance.

All levels welcome, ability to be able to move gently from seated to standing at times, adopting a more refined and correct breathing pattern to reset your nervous system

Ability to modify if needed

No Flows. No long holds or executing fancy poses.

ABSOLUTE BEGINNER: Gentle Pilates

If you are wanting to start your Pilates journey but not sure where to begin, then I have designed this program for the absolute beginner or for the person who would prefer a gentler class.

This class will make you feel welcome and teach you about the reformer machine. We will keep you safe throughout your workout and give you appropriate modifications to suit your individual needs until you build confidence in your practice.

We will also educate you on the Pilates principles so you have a full understanding on awareness and connection to your body, balance, alignment and correct breathing.

ALIGN: Pilates Level 1

This may be the perfect place to begin your Pilates journey or suitable for those wanting a slower paced, more focused practice through, cues, alignment, postural and co-ordination.

Guiding you to connect with the deeper muscles through strengthening, activation of lazy or dormant muscles, observation of stretching and lengthening of muscles.

A better connection with breathing process  and concentration of mind.

A moderately challenging class adapting and modifying as needed to suit the individual.

PROGRESSION: Pilates Level 2

This class mindfully moves at a pace assuming you have had experience on the Reformer and have knowledge in the Pilates exercises and equipment.

You can comfortably move at your pace or progress to more challenging levels.

A complete work out challenging the whole body, body / breath connection and concentration of mind.

Options to modify or challenge with or without assistance.

Important: We recommend that the practitioner should have at least attended 3 ALIGN:  LEVEL 1 CLASSES before progressing to the next level. You will be required to plank, stand and balance on the reformer. 

Mindful Meditations

Basic breathing exercises prior to meditation class will be done to support your ability to be more mindful.  Improve the quality of the breath, calm your mind and reset your nervous system.

This class is a guided meditation for the practioner to be led by a teacher to practice mental concentration and relaxation.

The meditation involves focusing on the present moment   and self- awareness through different techniques of body and breath awareness, body scanning and relaxation.

You will be explained the dynamics of the mind and how to anchor to your present moment experience through guidance of your teacher.

This class will be suitable for the absolute beginner or for the person who wants to find mental clarity and stillness.

Over 55s

Class is designed to focus on slow & controlled movement through strengthening & stretching exercises. Deliberate & repetitive movements,  incorporating a gentle program under the guidance of instructor with clear direction supporting the individual to achieve their goals . Focus on correct breathing, postural & alignment is key. This class is designed for the individual that is already physically active and has no existing or pre-existing injuries. This is not a muscle rehabilitation class.

Studio Guidelines

Punctuality

Please ensure you arrive on time for your class. Arriving more than five minutes late may result in forfeiture of your place, as we have a lock-out policy to ensure everyone’s safety and minimise disruptions.

 

Phone Policy

Our studio is a phone-free zone, please ensure mobiles are switched off and place in the designated area.

 

Footwear

Please remove your shoes and place in the designated area upon your arrival.

Grippy socks must be worn at all times and can be purchased in the studio.

 

Essential Items

Please bring a water bottle and sweat towel as they are compulsory items for all classes.

 

Jewellery Removal

For safety reasons please remove all jewellery prior to using reformers for your own safety and to avoid equipment interference.

 

Waiver Agreement

All participant must complete a waiver agreement prior to joining classes.

 

Attire

Wear clean comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement during exercise.

Kathleen Pisani

Founder of Mindful Movement Pilates & Yoga

Kathleen founder of Mindful Movement Pilates and Yoga has been passionate and established in Yoga and Pilates practices for many years.

My journey in Yoga began in my early 20’s exploring  various teachings of Traditional Hatha, Satyananda, Vinyasa and Bikram Yoga.
I furthered my study to explore the 8 Limbs of Patanjali and thereafter trained in Yin Yoga, Mindfulness Practices,  Mat Pilates, Anatomy and Reformer Pilates
Teaching across the community of Mitchell Shire, Assumption College, The Former Kilmore International School, Broadford Corporate, KLC and Hidden Valley Resort has given me the opportunity to grow in my practise and guide the practioner to understand the relationship between body, breath and mind.
Living my passion and turning my vision into reality I can now offer this in my own wellness space
